The stay

Swexan is the new-money glamour play — one of Dallas's newest luxury hotels, design-forward and deliberately showy, in the Harwood District just north of downtown. That puts you in Uptown's restaurant-and-bar scene rather than the office-core downtown, which is the right trade for some and the wrong one for others; a car or rideshare helps here more than it does on Main Street. At $$$$ it's the priciest of the Dallas rooftops, and you're paying for how new and polished it all is — worth it if you want the current 'it' hotel, less so if you'd rather a landmark with some history.
