Why it's on the list

One of Denver's longest-running rooftop pools — heated and open all year on the Warwick's roof deck, with the Mile High skyline laid out below and designer loungers for the wait. Less scene than the newer arrivals, more reliable; here, the pool is actually the point.

The stay

The Warwick is the old guard — an Uptown fixture from Denver's mid-century social scene, its onetime Playboy Club connection now a design wink after a top-to-bottom renovation of all 216 rooms, each with a genuinely large private balcony. Uptown means Grant Street a block off the 17th Avenue restaurants, with the State Capitol and downtown both a short walk — city Denver, at a calmer address than the convention blocks. At $$ it's the value play of the three: book it for a balcony, the skyline, and a roof that's heated and open all year, and skip it if you want the scene the Cherry Creek decks charge $$$ for.
