Washington's building-height act caps most of the city around thirteen floors, so there is no infinity edge over a canyon here — and genuinely few hotel pools at all. These three are the real ones; almost everything else marketed as a DC rooftop pool is a bar.
Washington has almost no true rooftop hotel pools; the WAVES deck here is the exception, looking over the Potomac waterfront and the DC skyline. Heated, guest-only, and an actual swim — not a bar with a puddle.
Deck 11 is the largest rooftop pool on Capitol Hill and the only one where the Capitol dome is genuinely the view rather than a rumour of one. Eight hundred square feet of water inside an eight-thousand-square-foot deck, and day passes for about fifty dollars — the most accessible good pool in the city.
Fourteen floors up on the 14th Street corridor, which in Washington counts as altitude. It is a real swim during the day and turns into Hedy's bar crowd after dark, so the move is a morning lap and an early afternoon before the deck changes character.
